I am working on a customer's car that was brought in with no oil pressure. Like, tried a mechanical gauge, thing rattles like a mofo, 0 oil pressure. I pulled the motor and have pupped the oil pan, but nothing has jumped out. There is a good bit of glitter in the oil pan, would an effed bearing bypass enough oil to drop all the pressure? I'm still working on getting the whole story on this engine, it looks like it might have come used from somewhere like Venus auto. I haven't pulled any rod caps yet, but there is no discoloration. This isn't a new build that would need to have the pump primed, and he put a ton of oil in it to ensure that the pump itself was submerged in case the pickup was cracked, pump was stalled etc. Check ball under the oil tree is in place. It's a '95 NA Looks to be a late motor, has EGR temp. Oil pressure reg/bypass is in place. The underside of the motor looks good, no excessive oil buildup on the rods/crank throws, clean, but not freshly rebuilt. Anything else that I should look into? I'm thinking I'm going to pull and open up the oil pump next and check the rod bearings to try and figure out where the glitter is coming from. Thanks for any suggestions.
