Message	and trunk) are in the closed position. Tape them down if need be. I'm 99% sure that the trunk switch sends a signal to a relay located inside the cavity were the head light aim kit is found. I know this cause one time i left my trunk lid not completely closed for a long period that relay was very hot meaning it is drawing current the entire time the trunk was not completely closed. 1)On a fresh battery try feeling that relay if it's warm after the trunk has been left open. 2)Disconnect that relay
