Message	i was changing out my front pads over weekend, and noticed that my passenger side was missing the top plate over the caliper. the thin metal piece (odd shaped) that fits between the two pins on the top? what is this called, and what's it for? do i need it? i noticed the side without this has worn much faster than the other side that has it, but not sure if this is related. thanks.
