Message hi, i recently notice my car is overheating. i have 94tt which has 120k service done recently. it overheats usually during hot days with a/c on or off with idling in traffic. i took it to local dealer who did consultz diagnose and it did not return any code but he told me my clutch fan is not engaging. i checked the e-fan and it was turning itself on but i could not confirm it kicks into high speed mode. i inquire and did some more researches and narrow down the cause and i decided to start the trouble shoting with replacing clutch fan first. although it seems it looked ok with the turning test but ive heard about the clutch fan, looks can be deceiving. so i replaced it with oem part last weekend. along with the replacement, i cleaned out the debris from radiator and inbetween space(still attached to the car)as best as i can. after the job is done, i took it to drive around town and clocked 50 miles or so drive with a/c on all the way. i did not notice the temp gauge spiking and it was steady at 50% so i thought the problem is solved. but then again, a day after, i took it to nice mountain drive and i notice when a/c is on and going uphill about 40 miles/hr(slow traffic in the curvy mountain road) i notice the temp gauge start to climb up to 70% mark on temp gauge. so i shut off the a/c and drove same fashion uphill for about 20 min. the temp lowered back to normal at 50%. so with this, i need to still trouble shoot how to stay normal temp range. here is quick run down.

overheats when:
1. a/c on
2. slow speed
3. idle at traffic

my mechanic suggests that it could be e-fan so i think that's something that i will suspect to change next but i can't find oem tt e-fan for sale anywhere. so here are my questions:

1. i was thinking about getting suitable 3rd party fan replacement. is the mishimoto fan straight drop in replacement?
2. any other cause to trouble shoot overheating?

thanks for your help! any suggestions are welcome and links to the parts purchase are greatly appreciated!
