Make sure ECU is not activating solenoid when EGR is needed. Confirm with vacuum gauge T'd off hose to EGR valve. My solenoid was working properly and EGR valve was working poperly, but ECU was activating solenoid & blocking EGR function when it was needed. Unplugging the solenoid connector kept the ECU from interferring with EGR function. Idle will still be smooth as no vacuum goes to EGR with throttle closed.
