Message I've got a 92 TT Z that hasn't driven in 17 years, sitting most of those years w/o an engine in the car. The engine was finally replaced a couple weeks ago w/ a great condition '95 USDM engine that I spent a great deal of money on replacing every single part on it except internals.

For performance, I added sport 500s, single jwt pop charger, 3" SZ downpipes and soon full 3" SZ exhaust (until exhaust arrives, the stock exhaust is bolted to the downpipes). The sport 500 wastegate is preset to open at 12 PSI minimum I believe.

Now for problems:

- Car feels weaker than it should be. I switched from N/A to this TT and I am not impressed. It should have 350+ HP so I highly doubt I wouldn't be able to notice that.

- Driving normally, the temp gauge stays between hot and cold for however long you drive. Boosting even once (WOT) makes the car jump to in between normal and hot (2/3). I haven't driven it for more than 5-10 mins after it gets that hot but during that time, it does not drop down at all. If you boost (7+ psi) more than 5-6 times, it'll get even hotter, near the hot side.

- It feels slightly hesitant in lower RPMS and more hesitant after 5K rpms. Sometimes I can hear backfire from exhaust.

Things I have done:
- Burped the coolant system thoroughly
- Added redline water wetter
- Checked dipstick, looks normal
- Checked exhaust for smoke, nothing

Things I'm planning on doing:
- Purchased SZ ECU upgrade. Although I let off the gas as soon as it gets near 9 PSI, maybe the stock boost gauge is lying to me and it's still boosting over that and the stock ECU is to blame. It should be here Wed/Thurs.

- Cleaning and straightening every fin on oil cooler and radiator
- Flushing coolant system
- Changing oil and checking for coolant
- Doing compression test just to rule out BHG (although highly unlikely)
- Doing boost leak test just to rule out

Since this car has to be running efficiently by Saturday as it needs to go on a trip to get fully painted, I'm asking anyone to throw in any ideas to my list so I can try everything within the next few days.
