So I decided to buy a full Energy Suspension bushing kit for my 1990 TT and am running into some problems. On the front I don't know how to press out the bushings on the transverse link arm that the tension rod attaches to, I couldn't get any movement even with a hydraulic press and the sides of the arm were starting to bend together. Should i just try drilling and burning/cutting? Then on the rear I am nervous about using the press on the aluminum knuckle without having the perfect size drift so if anyone knows the bushing diameters of those that would be helpful. Lastly I was not able to use the press to push in the new bushings on the upper front arm or upper rear arm as the bushings just collapsed and i couldn't get the lip to fit through. I am gonna head to the hardware store tomorrow and try to pull them through.
If anyone has any tips or advice on any of this I'd really appreciate it.
