Message Thought I'd share some results from trying to debug why my radio reception has been so bad after replacing the BOSE system. The issue was the antenna adapter I bought is wired BACKWARDS. If you install the antenna adapter such that the little clip on the side of the nissan harness engages, my adapter uses the little rear window antenna NOT the large retractable antenna mast. Flipping the connector and using zip ties to hold it in place greatly improved reception as this switched to using the retractable antenna mast. It's easy to tell which of the 300ZX antennas is currently connected to your after market radio. Just turn on the head unit in FM mode and you should hear the radio reception quickly improve as the rear antenna mast is being extended. If on the other hand your adapter is backwards like mine, when you first turn on the radio, reception does not improve as the antenna mast extends because you are not connected to the mast but are instead using the inadequate fixed antenna in the rear windsheild. Hope some folks find this useful.
