So, my N/A has 260K miles on it. I have noticed over the past few years an intermittent lifter tick. This would generally happen as I got close to my oil change time. The tick has been getting progressively worse as I rack up miles. I did some searching on her and found a few things to try. I put in a pint of MMO. The tick has faded and is almost 100% gone. I have noticed that the low oil pressure I was registering (40psi @ 2000 RPM) has climbed back to its normal almost 60 psi. Can someone explain from a mechanical perspective how the MMO would change the hydraulic operation of a set of old lifters? Furthermore, how a thinner MMO could cause my oil pressure to return to normal. (BTW, I have a new OPSU with drilled orifice and new wire running direct to the gauge).
