So about three weeks ago I notice my fan running more than it should. Checked the coolant, about a quart low. Filled it up, seemed fine. Yesterday, took the car for a drive, come back, and notice again my fan is running way more than it should. So I let it cool down most of the afternoon while doing other stuff, check the coolant, about a quart and a half low, and the coolant bottle was full. So pushing coolant out, but not pulling it back in, bad sign. So I refilled, started the car, and left the cap off to see what was going on. At first nothing, then when it got good and warm, it looks like it's got an alka seltzer tablet in the bottom of the radiator, real small "fizzy" bubbles, and some very small traces of oil bubbling to the surface. Dipstick looks fine, thank God. What is weird is that these gaskets were installed three years ago. They probably have 35 or 40k miles on them. I have heard of issues with cometic head gaskets, but most of the stuff I read said they would fail almost immediately if they weren't installed correctly. So now I have gotta pull the damn motor and fix a head gasket, and I think I am gonna throw these cometic's in the trash and go OEM. Thoughts?
