Message	if you tear it all down just spray some cosmoline down the bores or just wipe/brush some bearing guard down the bores. Light surface rust isn't going to hurt the bores if you plan to bore/hone the block out. But over time it will definitely cause issues with how deep the rust penetrates into the bore.
