| Hey Guys, So I was able to get my hands on a very cheap parts car with a horribly done swapped turbo motor in it. I could barely keep it running when I got it (ran on like 2-3 cylinders), and since I could not get it to keep coolant I could not run it for very long. Anyway I am in the process of doing a tear down and rebuild. I had a quick question about the turbos. I did a quick check on shaft play once I got the down pipes off. Here is a Video, sorry for the horrible camera work. Is this shaft play excessive? The wheels are not touching the housings but are very close. There is very little axial play (barely noticeable). Also the drivers side wheel is a bit wet but the down pipes are dry. Before I pulled the motor I did a compression check on it. I could not warm up the motor before doing it because of what I said in the beginning. So these numbers are with the engine cold. Cyl 1 150 psi Cyl 2 130 psi Cyl 3 152 psi Cyl 4 145 psi Cyl 5 152 psi Cyl 6 150 psi Wet tested (cap full of oil) the low Cyl 2, shot straight back up to 150 psi. From what I know 130 psi is low for a vg30dett. Should I rebuild the bottom end, or save the cash and use it on other bolt-on upgrades?
