Message It will stay in the full extended (disengaged) position until you release the clutch pedal. The reverse thing was like that from the moment I turned the key. I had to immediately apply pressure to my brakes to stop from moving even with the clutch pedal all the way depressed. I had to have the clutch floored just to minimize how much grip was going on with the clutch.

Basically, it is trying to disengage but it is not fully happening. It is staying engaged just enough to keep some driveshaft connection as well as just enough to prevent me from shifting. The fork moves 5/8" and the TOB presses against the pressure plate fingers. I can see it with the boot off. Either the pressure plate fingers are not moving enough or they are and there is something wrong with the clutch itself.

When I drove it to my house, it would allow me to shift on rare occasion as I went through the streets from my friend's house to mine. However, just when I thought it was good, I wouldn't be able to shift again. My only way to shift right now is rev matching while bypassing the clutch altogether.

Never Play Leapfrog With A Unicorn!!!

WILL JSCHRAUWEN EVER ANSWER MY QUESTION?

John, stop it! You are not allowed in AMS threads and you know it. -- marty1mc

Do yourself a favor and just worry about your own car. I don't see what everyone is so worried about anyway. If someone else wants to perform a modification that you believe will destroy the value, cheapen the Z32 or whatever you can't sit on your hands about, wouldn't that make your tastefully-modified, white bread Z32 more rare and valuable? -- BradZ (FL) on December 23, 2007 at 12:19 PM
