Message 1) The spring clip for the cast fork is different that the OEM clip. I had slight difficulty getting it on properly so I had to pay special attention to it. Because I remember it so clearly, I am certain it was installed properly. If it came loose, it came loose from a perfectly installed beginning. Not sure what it would take for this to occur.

2) The pivot bolt was the chromoly bolt. I'm assuming these are not very easy to snap right?

3) My bell housing had a very loose hole for the pivot bolt to begin with. In fact, when I went to install my Southbend clutch, I noticed the threads were stripped and the bolt was wobbly. That's how bad it was. Mike Smith (MSP) came over to my house and fixed it to where it was nice and snug. When I replaced it with the shorter bolt for the cast fork, I double checked to make sure the new threads were solid. Everything was fine. However, I am hoping they didn't come loose again because it would mean getting a new tranny.

I was going to get it on jack stands today but it didn't work out as planned. I'll have to put it up tomorrow and look. I kind of hope it's just something as simple as the TOB.

Never Play Leapfrog With A Unicorn!!!

WILL JSCHRAUWEN EVER ANSWER MY QUESTION?

John, stop it! You are not allowed in AMS threads and you know it. -- marty1mc

Do yourself a favor and just worry about your own car. I don't see what everyone is so worried about anyway. If someone else wants to perform a modification that you believe will destroy the value, cheapen the Z32 or whatever you can't sit on your hands about, wouldn't that make your tastefully-modified, white bread Z32 more rare and valuable? -- BradZ (FL) on December 23, 2007 at 12:19 PM
