Message	The EMI shield is just a bunch of stranded wire that's wrapped around an already sheathed signal wire. The EMI shield and the signal wire aren't physically connected to one another, so it shouldn't affect a continuity test. I've never tried running new cable for the detonation sensor, so I can't say for sure how important the EMI shielding is to its operation. But if it bothers you, just run new EMI shielded cable and attach the shield to a ground near the ECU.
