Message I'd just use some stranded wire with a thick shield. But first, before you cut anything, you should do a continuity test from the ECU to the detonation sensor plug. I did that test a few years ago and found that the two pins in my plug were switched, causing a code 34. My pins must have been switched from a previous failed repair.

FYI, here's what I remember about the detonation sensor wiring. (It's been a while, so double check me.) Only one wire goes from the detonation sensor to the ECU, even though there are two pins in the plug and possibly even two wires in the sheathing. I believe there is no ground wire from the sensor to the ECU. The sensor is grounded by being bolted to the engine. I'm not sure why Nissan decided to use a 2 pin plug, when a 1 pin plug would have achieved the same thing.
