Message Hi everyone,
I searched for this, but could only find stuff on ECU diagnostics.

I went to do the self-diagnostics check on my ECU today. I turned the key to ACC, then turned the screw fitting counterclockwise and clockwise again. No LED light, so I went back and read the instructions and realized that my screw (I have no idea what else to call it) was all the way clockwise to begin with. Three questions:

1. Would doing it backwards, like I did, hurt the ECU in any way?

2. Why would it be left in that position? Does that mean the ECU was not running any codes at all while I've been driving my car?

3. How do I properly set in in the proper, fully-counter-clockwise position for proper diagnostics and general use of the ECU while my car is running (is it just a matter of turning it back?)?.

Thanks!
