Message	with your meter, then you'll know whether it's good. I wouldn't assume anything. You may be on to something with that 4.23 reading, but the one thing you know for sure is that you are not getting good readings. I've never tested them in the car, but my guess is you're doing it wrong. Somebody who knows more will chime in.
