Message "They said it started acting up about halfway through the trek across country." I guess someone was unloading it and driving it while it was shipped?

In any event, that still seems to point to something sudden that happened. That doesn't sound like a MC or an air in system issue. Sounds mechanical failure.

Your comment about replacing the clutch fork made me think of something "mechanical" that could have suddenly happened to cause your issues. Your not going to like it. - I think one or both sides of your throw out bearing has shifted up on the fork. You know how when you install it you have to slide it down on the fork? Well, if it didn't get fully slid down and "clicked" in, it can work itself up. When that happens the TOB will not travel the distance needed to push in on the clutch fully like it should, and you will have problems engaging the clutch. If it slides up far enough you won't be able to get it engaged at all. Maybe all the jostling on the truck helped work your TOB way up if it wasn't "clicked" in.

I had this problem on my last clutch that I installed about 3 years into it. :-( For a while things were good, but then one day there was a noticeable difference in where the clutch engaged. I'd say at least an inch difference. After that I began having intermittent issues shifting into gear which then became gradually worse. It got to the point where I couldn't shift into 1st without a double clutch.

I assumed it was because my 6 puck clutch was simply wearing out. However, I did a phone consult with Greg at SpecialtyZ about my shifting problems. He didn't know for certain but thought it sounded like an adjustment, clutch wear or throw out bearing issue... Not having the funds nor time nor inclination to do another clutch job I lived with it for another year and a half as I don't drive the car a lot of miles.

I finally replaced the clutch in March. I discovered what I described above. When you have the tranny out and can push on the fork with your hand you can see how it interacts with the TOB on the shaft. When it's not clicked in, the TOB moves more "up" instead of "forward" when the fork is pressed

Anyway, I keep saying "clicked" in for lack of a better word. It doesn't actually make a click sound, but when you get it fully inserted on the fork you can feel it click in, if that makes any sense. Then when you depress the fork the only movement on the TOB is forward and not "up and forward." Since I was a rookie the previous time I installed the TOB I didn't know what it was supposed to feel like, nor did I get it completely clicked in. Sigh.

Unfortunately, the only way for you to see if this could be your problem is to remove the tranny. So barring that you can try all the other easier suggestions first to see if it makes the car driveable at least perhaps.
