Message	:What are my chances I can just use the used caps on the fresh heads? Pretty much zero chance. The cam bores are machined with the cam caps installed, making them a matched set to the head. If you install a set of caps from another head without line honing, the cam will likely seize in the head, which is obviously very bad. There are shops that do this work. I had a set of heads line honed. The heads had been previously overheated, which warped the heads. The heads were decked, which fixed the head gasket sealing issues, but the cam bores were no longer straight and true. Line honing fixed that...
