| Trying to solve some issues on my car (as can be noticed by the other tech post below this). Search results weren't specific enough for my liking. I went ahead and used a mityvac handpump to test both the clutch and brake boosters today. Brake booster: Can only get to 7.5hg with a lot of pumping. Probably drops from 5.0hg to 0 within a minute. I feel like it is suppose to hold a lot longer and might be part of my Z's issues. I can nearly stall the car by pumping the brakes in idle, but I hadn't revisited the issue because I was told this is normal. Not sure if this is related. Side note - when I reverse down my driveway (steep hill after garage) my brake pedal will clunk once I transition to the hill (only happens when going down the hill). Makes me think I may need to bleed the brakes more. If I have to replace the booster this will happen anyway. Clutch booster: Can build vacuum with just a few pumps. The vacuum drops very slowly. Would probably take 10 minutes to go from 5-0. Maybe more, maybe less, complete guesstimate. Much less than brake booster. Brake booster was the first thing I ever replaced on my car after getting it running (years ago). I bought one used off eBay to replace the old one which held no vacuum causing major issues. My brakes seem to work fine. I think from reading the vacuum shouldn't drop period, but I wanted to check. Re-replacing the brake booster is one of the last things I want to do at the moment. It is a total pain in the ass! Thanks for replies!
