| Symptoms are that the car is running so rich significant amounts of gas are getting into the oil. Runs ok over 4k or so when the engine can burn all the gas properly. Things checked: Compression is perfect New fuel dampener, fuel pressure regulator, and coolant temperature sensor. Timing is good Injectors flow properly, and all ohm test at between 12.5 and 12.7 ohms. Coolant levels are fine, no coolant getting into the oil. MAF sensor checks out, fuel temp sensor checks out, engine is not throwing any codes any more. IACV stuff checks out A little history on the project. I bought the Z around 2 months ago and I immediately took the plenum off and did some work in there. I bought refurbished injectors from a reputable guy [ http://www.ebay.com/itm/FUEL-INJECTOR-SET-1990-1991-1992-1993-NISSAN-300ZX-3-0L-VG30DE-1660015V02-270cc?item=300678382256&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7793900456243690897#ht_2960wt_1163 ] I did the throttle body coolant bypass and resealed the exhaust and intake valve covers as well. I put 'er back together and she was running so rich that she was backfiring and not even getting close to idling. I am in the middle of thesis work so I decided I did not have the time to do it all again so I took it to a shop. They drained the oil and it had been running so rich it was a nice creamy brown color and it smelled like gas. They verified all my work was good and now they are stumped as well. To quote the mechanic "I feel like I am chasing a ghost here." Any ideas guys? Nobody seems to have any idea what is going on with the thing, I would default to the injectors but we did a spray test and it looked great, no leakage or anything, and all the resistances are perfect. Thanks in advance for any advice.
