The clutch pedal has two switches, one in the front side of the car and one in the back side. The front one is to prevent to start the engine without the clutch on. The back one is to cancel the cruise control. You got to be very careful when adjusting the pedal, cause if is not returning 100% can cause the returning fluid hole to remain closed and this causes to the sistem overcharge with the engine heat and the pedal adjustment seems to move until the clutch starts to slip. Also check the washer in the end of the clutch pump. If is bended, this can also causes the return oil hole to be blocked with the same consecuences. Took me a lot of work to find this cause that drove me crazy for a while
