Message to a body ground will eliminate the code 34 and will take you out of saftey boost. If you still cant achive boost pressure above 7psi then you have another issue and most likely the stock boost selenoids are bad and/or you are missing the stock boost jets.

The stock wastegates open at 7psi so the the only we a stock Z achieves the stock 9-10psi is by way of a boost jet located off the wastgate line after the boost selenoid. when a knock is detected and "saftey boost" in engaged the boost selenoid diverts the routing to a line that has no boost jet making the wastegate open at 7psi.

So if you did the resistor trick and are still in saftey boost your either missing the stock jet or the seleniod is "stuck" in the diverted mode.
