Did some searching an couldn't find a close enough match for this issue, so wanted to throw this up real quick to see if anyone could help, an stop us from pouring several gallons of petrol on this Z, throwing in a Zippo, an walking away.. (Admin, feel free to move to Tech section at will, Tech tab is just slow this morning, hence the post here) Here are the overall specs on my buddies Z that we are having issues with, she is a: -1992TT, 5 speed, stock motor. (87k original miles) -Full custom breather mods on the intake/exhaust side (2.5"in,tubular manifolds, then 3"out) custom "huge" bell core side mount intercoolers,(not czp, made in house in my garage). -740cc injectors, JWT ECU,etc,etc..(all the usual bells an whistles/supporting mods) -sport 700's. The skinny: For 15,000+ miles, this setup has ran fine, zero issues, with his job, an a few other dynamic additions to his life, he had to park the Z for over a year. Recently he came back with the motivation to bring her out of his garage,etc.. Did a oil change, an all the usual measures after a Z has sat for an extended period of time. She runs fine, compression is spot on @ 155's across the board, (+/- 1) -Leak down is spot on, oil pressure is normal @ idle an under load, basically everything checks out below 15psi. Once he goes any higher that 15psi even slightly, the smoke starts bellowing out the exhaust..turn it down to 15 or less an wait a few seconds for the smoke to clear, an all is well all day with city or highway driving. We took things apart an saw that his original valve stem seals looked "okay", but went ahead an installed all new Vitons in an attempt to improve something vs nothing @ all. The turbos have less than 10,000 miles on them, an worked great all this time, plus with the recent motor pull, the blades looked like new, little to no shaft play,etc... Put it all back together, fire her up, run her up to 15psi, she is pristine...(yes, verified with external gauge for a true 15psi), even swapped gauges, same thing). At this point, we are scratching our heads... No boost leaks, no vacuum leaks, timing is correct, widebands read normal,etc,etc.. Is the motor or the turbos causing this? Failing oil pump? (as its a new OEM oil pump with less than 15k miles on her.. :( there is a mild,VERY light amount of oil in the exhaust piping when you drop the test pipes, so its coming from somewhere, just Don't know from where... ***Not looking for flames, just genuine help so we can try an have her on the road this weekend,etc... If possible. End rant////
