I am rebuilding a set of spare lifters out of some old heads in preparation to change out a collapsed lifter. I am following the FAQ shown Here (Same as TT.net FAQ, without the broken picture links). However, when I attempt to "smack" the bottom of the housing, I have failed to get the lifter body to "pop" out of the housing... I have tried this on three separate lifters, smacked one for about 5 minutes, and HARD (I will make that one my "sacrificial practice lifter"), tried heating it etc. But to no avail. I don't think I am doing it wrong, but there must be a trick of some sort that I am not getting, because really, the guide doesn't make it out to being that difficult. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks, Nick
