If the car runs fine otherwise that's probably not the case, but if you want to check, there's a notch on the chip. The notch should face the LED/diagnostics selector. You'll notice that the socket has a corresponding notch, and if you ever removed the socket, the PCB even has a printed picture showing the notch.
 But like I said, if your car is running fine otherwise that's probably not the case. The harness connector (the ECU plug) might not be in all the way, or the connection at the temp sensor could be bad/dirty/broken. These SHOULD throw a code, but I guess you never know. I suppose there could also be a short in the wiring for the aux fan.
