I just replaced the two long oil cooler hoses on my TT but noticed that the factory hose clamps which have two wire rings and a screw to tighten with, will only tighten to a certain point. When the screw is turned all the way in, the clamp is pretty tight on the hose and I can see them pressing in on the rubber, yet I can twist the hoses pretty easily on the nipple and am afraid they are going to leak as they are not tight enough for my liking. Obviously they worked well to this point until the hose started cracking and maybe this was itended by nissan as to not overtighten the clamps, but would it be wise to go with part store band clamps instead?
