93 NA with automatic, stock, 160K on the clock....cruising at 60-70 on the freeway, sometimes when I jump on the throttle, it'll try to kick down to 3rd but doesn't make it, and just rev's like mad, as if I slipped it into neutral. I get off the throttle, and it'll settle back into gear. Other times it kicks down fine. This only happens in high gear and when I throttle hard enough to kick down into 3rd. Aside from driving like a high mileage auto, I notice no problems in any other gears or at any lower speeds. I don't notice any slipping or flaring between gears, even when I run it WOT from any gear at any lower speeds. I first noticed this problem only on two separate occasions a few months ago, but on an hour long roadtrip last night, it happened just about any time I was going above 65 and went over 1/2 throttle...or enough to drop out of overdrive, into 3rd gear for acceleration. Am I looking at a new tranny soon???
