you test between the sensor connector and the ECU harness connector pin 23. Do a search for one of the many ECU harness diagrams to figure out which one is pin 23. I don't know if you can ohm out the sensor or not, but if your continuity is good on the harness then it's most likely the sensor. If you try a new sensor and it still doesn't work, then it's the ECU, specifically the daughter board which handles the signal processing from the knock sensor. You can try replacing that board if you can find one, but you'll have to do some simple soldering.
