| Ok i swapped out this kids NA motor after he blew a head gasket and afterward the car was having overheating problems. I determined it to be a gummed up heater core and radiator from when the headgasket put oil throughout the cooling system. Well in diagnosing the over heating i put my TT radiator in the kids car. Longs story short the kid calls me saying his car wont start and gets it towed to my house. It turns out the coolant over flow line fell of the radiator and hot coolant must have shot out of the hole spraying collant all over the connector on the CAS. So i check the codes and sure enough im getting code 11. I thought maybe i shorted out the CAS so i replaced it with another, no help then i replaced it with the one off my TT which i know is good, still nothing. Actually it sometimes starts right up, but the first sign of gas i give it, it dies on me. Wierd... So my question is has anyone one ever heard of anything like this and is it possible to short the ECU by doing that? or is it more likely that the harness is murked? Ive searched and everyone one just replaced their CAS, and then ones that a new CAS didnt work they never followed up on the thread stating what the end outcome was. then yesterday i went and picked up another ECU but i didnt have a chance to swap it out because now i cant even get the car to TURN OVER!!!! The night before the car would crank fine but after awhile from swapping things around and retrying to crank the car over and over it seemed the car was struggling to turn so I thought the car might have been hydrolocked so i pull the plugs tur over the car and it spins like butter but not a drop of gas comes out. So i thought it was the battery was going low. I took two batteries to Autozone, got them charged and came home threw them both in and it sounds like the batteries just dont have enough juice spin the motor. But they had a FULL CHARGE!!! I pull the plugs again and try to crank the motor and it still feels like its struggling cranks like half way and feels like its locked up on something. First thought.... Timing belt jumped! so i pull the top covers and everything is fine 24-45-24 cogs. I didnt have time to pull the crank pully and count the cranks gear cog run. Here is the wierd part after it seemed locked up on me i tried to spin the motor at the crank and at first i could not get it to go clockwise with a 24'' breaker bar, so i went counterclockwise and I could spin the motor at the crank bolt multiple revolutions and then it would spin clockwise fine. But that first spin clockwise i did feel something binding.... (spark plugs still removed) By this time it was getting dark so i put eveything away for the night. Man this car is pissing me off......Why isnt this POS turning over now???
