Message I was driving the Z today and while braking to come to a stop at a light the engine just shut off. Everything went dead and I tried to start it back up. It cranked and all the lights in the dash came on but it would not turn over. 2-3 minutes later it started, I managed to pass the light but a block down while coasting it stalled again. I coasted to the side of the road and tried to start it, again it cranked but it would not turn over. I waited for about 5 minutes, and it started. I ended up pulling into a parking lot, calling AAA and getting it towed home. Didn't want to risk stalling in a big street or in the freeway.

The temperature in SoCal has been relatively hot, I think it was 95 degrees today where I am located. I kept an eye out on my temperature gauge and it never went up. I don't know what could be the culprit. I checked everything and all my connectors are hooked up, nothing seemed loose. Although in the process I managed to break my temp gauge sensor, stupid mistake on my part.

Any ideas on why it would randomly stall? BTW my Z is an automatic.

I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM

Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM
