| The first thing I would in your case is a compression check. Its simple and with a little research you should be able to do it no problems. That will tell you if the piston rings are bad and if the motor needs a rebuild. If you see that you have good compression I would lean towards PCV valves like you originally thought. Although with depending on your area and how long the dumb ass ran the car with out a air filter you may be looking at replacing the engine considering all the silica dust around there. But a compression check will tell the story in that situation. I'm assuming you already know what you need to do in the case of the radiator, fan, and water pump. After you have made sure the motor isn't shot do 120k maintenance. Its roughly 500 USD not including shipping. Check with SpecialtyZ and z1motorsports or put together the parts from a local guy. If you get a JDM motor make sure you do all the maintained before you put it in the car... Those things are a gamble at best. Best of luck and welcome to twinturbo.net. If you want to take a look in the FAQ section there's a outstanding wealth of knowledge on the car.
