| tt engines at least 8-10 times and I have always pulled it with the transmission attached. For me its a lot easier. It's definately less time consuming and if you don't have transmission jack it will be a little pain to get the transmission aligned especially if you're doing it on the floor. I have always used a strap and set it on cylinder 1 and 6(diagonal). Also hook the hoist like 5-6 inches from the plenum to give it some tilt when raising the engine. I know some pple say its not good to used the plenum to hold the weight of the engine and transmission together, but I never had a problem doing it. It also helps to drop the engine crossmember a little when you're raising the engine. It's just the 4 nuts on the crossmember and one on the steering Knuckle. You're not taking it completely out, just lowering it. And Put it back up after you have the engine back in the car.
