Subject	How can you tell if you need a new alternator?

Message	Hey everyone I recently changed the 3 drive belts on my z. Then my belts started to squeak really bad when I started it and even while driving the car then it sometimes would go away. So I brought my car back to my mechanic I thought maybe the belts needed adjustments so then the mechanic said I needed a new ac pulley so I put in a new nissan ac pulley. The mechanic claimed that the car was still making noise due to needing a alternator. Which I find this weird because the car starts up fine and I let the car sit for days without starting. So I didn't have the mechanic change the alternator because I didn't think it is that. To me the car drives fine and now for a day or two the car really hasn't been squeaking. Any suggestions?
