Hey, I've had this same problem for about a month now. I've tried everything possible fix it. Some remedies to get out of safety boost are to put in above 93 octane or use octane booster, replace the knock sensor, put a resistor in place of the knock sensor, and try to reset the ecu. First you wanna check the codes on the ecu. If it's 34 then it's something related to the knock sensor. Also code 13 can cause it to go into safety boost which is the temp sensor. I have wired in a 1M ohm resistor which should fix it but I still have the same problem. Ive gotten down to blaming it on the ecu. It's like the ecu has gone bad. Sorry about that, this about you, not me. Just try those things and check the ecu.
