Subject	When do you need to use a thicker-than-stock head gasket?

Message	Just had my block honed and heads rebuilt. The decks on the block were fine, but they removed 0.005" (five thousandths) from the surface of each head. Doesn't seem like much, but got me wondering how much can be removed (heads plus block) before you run into valve clearance/timing/compression issues and need to use a thicker head gasket?
