Message I had the same problem you are having when I was trying to figure out my bearing grades. If you do a search you will see some posts I made asking about them. I don't remember exactly what I did unless I look for the paperwork I did regarding the bearing grades, but I remember my issue was with the rod caps.

Are you sure that the engine was not touched at one point? I know that on my engine the rods and caps were stamped for each cylinder and were in order from 1-6.

Looks like in both pictures you posted regarding the rod bearings the rods have a 0F on the rod. 0 on the cap for the first pic and 1 on the cap for the second pic.

I remember Damon replied to one of my posts and mentioned that if you are one grade up or down it won't matter that much. I know I was in spec both with a mic and plastigauge. If you search my posts in the tech forum I am sure you might find some useful information. I wish you best of luck, I know how frustrating it can get.

I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM

Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM
