Message ZTurboFan... There should ALWAYS be 24 cogs in between the two DS or PS cams no matter what... You can easily tell from the pic that there is not...

If the one cam is near the reference mark on the back plate the other cam should be Somewhat near... But you can see in that picture it's not even close.....

So I would question the compression test....

Who preformed the test??

What exactly were the numbers?

Because from that pic I can tell that at least one of the cams is way off...

I know you know what your talking about Zturbofan, but come on... Look at that picture, there is NO WAY the exhaust cam notch would be ANYWHERE in that area if the timing was correct or near correct.... It looks to be at least 10 cogs off...

I mean seriously... the notch is so far off he can't even count the cogs to that notch because the belt isn't even touching the gear!!

He would have to count a few cogs, mark it, rotate it until the belt touches the gear where the notch is then continue counting, Now come on... There is no way you can tell me that is close to correct....

If you don't believe me go outside and rotate your engine... Let me know when you get the intake cam notch at the top and the exhaust cam almost 45 degrees to the left... it will never happen..

But again im not saying 100% that its the exhaust cam... but it is more likely since at TDC (according to the crank pulley) the intake cam lines up nice..

But as I said in my first post. Too many variables when just looking at the pulley.

bottom line. I think your timing is WAY off...

Your picture is taken approximately when spark should fire...(TDC) But your exhaust cam (which signals the CAS to trigger fuel and spark) is no where near... resulting in fuel and spark what looks to be almost 45 degrees AFTER TDC, and since it SHOULD be at 15 degrees BEFORE TDC... I'd say that is a major issue..

Bottom line, replace the damn belt..

And Count the cogs and report back and I would put money on at least one cam being WAY off...

Oh, and that certain number of revolutions is like up in the thousands...
