Subject	Power loss at high RPM

Message	The car sat a few days and now I am losing power at about 4500 rpm. It pulls hard up until there, but from there to redline it is lackluster. Idle is smooth, no hesitation or bucking. I'm going to check for boost leaks but I can't do that until Thursday. Any ideas of other things I should check? Possibly related things: Three days before parking the car for the weekend, I got caught in a heavy storm and went through a deep puddle. It was around a turn and I didn't know it was coming. Pushed the clutch in to drop the revs. Didn't stall and it drove fine the next couple days. I've noticed higher fuel mileage lately. Not sure why. Possibly a dying fuel pump?
