worn out. Fortunately I have another used pulley laying around for use as a replacement. I removed the worn pulley and cleaned the shaft off and test fit the replacement, and the fit seems OK. The teeth on the old shaft look only slightly scratched up compared to this other new 94+ shaft I've got (I ordered the wrong shaft).
My question is, what could've caused the teeth on the damaged pulley to wear out so prematurely? Did I not clean the old shaft enough? Could overtightening the belt cause this? Will this happen again if I don't replace the shaft and pulley with brand new ones?
