Most of the guys that have tried and failed with electric fans are the TT guys. I too have an NA and I ran a 16" Permacool which claimed to pull nearly 3000 cfm. I mounted it directly to the upgraded aluminum radiator with no shroud and honestly it did work. However, I will say that on a couple occasions I was able to get the temp needle to move above center and that was without even using the AC. Im sure with a proper shroud and maybe a bit higher flowing fan it could work for you. As nice as having all of that extra room in front of the engine to work on things was, I personally went back to the mechanical fan for piece of mind so I didnt feel I always had to watch the temperature gauge. I would suggest the same for you because it is just not worth the headache.
