I recently had my Z tuned after installing some modifications. The target boost on the HKS EVC VI was set at 19.8 PSI (setting 'B'). This is the maximum boost which I expect to create. The tuner adjusted the offset 'B' to a 150 % value. Later, I found that the offset 'B' really only required an offset of 95% to reach the target boost of 19.8 PSI. The tuner indicated that he had increased the 'B' offset to 150 % to increase the gain setting and have the boost controller respond much faster initially than if the 'B' offset were set to a lower percentage. I can't find any reference in the HKS EVC VI user manual that this is the was the boost controller is to be used. Can anyone verify that what the tuner did was an acceptable method for increasing initial boost response when going Wide Open Throttle?
