Message Car: 1994 n/a with 87k
Recent maintenance: Changed 4 injectors last year, maybe 5k ago. Changed fuel filter, all fuel lines, o-rings, etc.

A while back I was having a problem starting the car when cold, It would start up and instantly die. After a ton of diagnosing/ researching it came down to my Fuel Pressure Regulator, which I replaced and everything was groovy. Soon after I had an injector die, and a few more ohm'd bad.

This car is my DD, and since the above issues, has ran and started up well.

Yesterday morning after a hard rain over night, I tried starting it up, and it turned over to around 1.5k then slowly died out. I always prime the system before turning the key fully, so I tried priming the system again, and it did the same issue.

Ran a fuel pressure test today, at prime it jumps to around 45-50 then instantly drops to 41psi. It then slowly drops all the way to 30 maybe 5 minutes later. If I take out the key it will drop to 20, not sure what happened after that, I had somewhere to be so I closed the hood.

All connections look perfect, I put some di-electric greese in the MAF, and a few more connections. I pulled 2 plugs and they looked fine, they were also replaced about 5k ago.

Checked the oil and it smelled a little fuelish.

Doesn't seem to me like it's an injector issue, when it cranks over before it dies it feels like it's running on all 6 well, then slowly dies. It does not hold at idle, just drops till it's death.

Any thoughts on what I should check? Could it be a bad FPR again? Do these fail often? I did not replace the damper, could that be clogged or have failed?

A friend told me it could be the fuel pump check valve?

Thanks!
-Adam
