Message alright i think my fan clutch might be failing
right after work today I gave the Z a bath maybe 3/4 mile drive

after firing up the engine the temp gauge started to rise.
it usually sits right at about halfway, it slowly went up to about 3/4.

turned it off popped the hood. (already dry 110degree sun)
no visible leaks from the radiator or pipes
no steam
no bubbles coming from the upper radiator tank plug

started up, temp gauge is back up to about 3/4H
drove around the corner, slowly goes from 3/4 up to Hot
clutched in to turn and it fell to 3/4 but started to rise again before parking the car

started a few times each showing between 3/4 and hot
still no visible leaks from the radiator or pipes
no steam

took it down the street and temp gauge goes to halfway
just hit 45mph
continued city driving for about 10-15miles gauge still at halfway.
went to the smoke shop and left her running
get to the first stop light after that and the gauge goes up to almost hot again for about 20seconds
20more miles and the gauge reads halfway the entire time

i found a write up that leads me to believe its the fan clutch, i was thinking it might be the temp sensor on the water pump

very last problem posted here

i tried turning the fan with the car off and it went for more than a full rotation or two

any input or experiences with this?
