Subject	Need advice on how to remove 12mm shifter nuts

Message	There are two 12mm nuts holding the shifter to the wishbone support plate on my 300 ZX. The front nut is on top and comes off easy, but the rear nut is underneath the mounting plate (unbelieveably stupid design). Can it be loosened and removed from above (HOW) or do I have to crawl under the car and work around the drive shaft to get it off? And if I can get the nut off, can I release the pivot bolt nut also from the top or do I stay under the car in order to pull the bolt through the tranny linkage?
