Message Long story short, over late winter/early spring my clutch started making the most awful grinding noise when it was engaging, but was completely silent when fully engaged or fully disengaged.

Dropped the transmission, a good bit of coolant was sitting in the bell housing. Pure coolant, not oil/coolant mix.

Behind the flywheel is a slow drip of coolant dropping onto the ground.

I haven't removed the flywheel yet, due to one bolt slightly rounded off. Once I get that extracted, I'll know for sure what the source of the leak is.

My question for now is: the only source of coolant leaking within in the bell housing is a cracked block right? Coolant has been leaking from the passenger side turbo, but there's no way that would make its way into the bell housing, at least that I can imagine. I also highly doubt that coolant is dripping from a source above and making its way into the bell housing.

It's a stock TT block with Garret 2871's running 19 PSI. No odd noises/changes in motor behavior before I dropped the tranny. Coolant temp never exceeded 215 F, and the few times it ever did get that hot, temperature was only that high for a matter of ~30 seconds max.
