Subject	Was told this vacuum hose is no longer available. What now?

Message	Ok, this molded hose is no longer available. After nearly completing the reinstallation of the intake I find this hose is cracked. Doesn't look like I can get a "soft" vacuum hose on the connecting hard tube near the EGR because I can't actually get my hands on it. It's directly under the egr tube towards the center of the engine. Here's what I'm thinking. Get a stiff piece of vacuum hose that won't flex while holding it about 3" out and splice it in to the soft hose that connects to the outside of the same hard tube on the intake. Is this hose necessary, or is it just for smog garbage? Wondering if I can just cap both hoses. Thanks!
