So, I thought that my 1-pc driveshaft was responsible for the hole in my gas tank by flexing the u-joint into the tank. Now that I finally have gotten a chance to take things apart, that's definitely not what happened. It looks like the differential was flexed into the gas tank. The tank looks like it was impacted just above the diff flange and has crimped and sprung a leak. But I'm completely lost as to how the diff could move given that I have solid subframe and diff bushings and they were torqued down to spec and looked fine both during assembly and disassembly just now. I'm going to keep investigating, but maybe someone has had a similar experience and can offer advice.
