paper type filter media. Just like most motor oil filters but without any kind of bypass.
If not using stock I would install some kind of filter. You could use the stock reservoir and flare the inlet tubes for AN fittings. I'd use the existing hard lines and flare them for A/N fittings anyway and use flex only where required for movement like the existing system. The hard lines will help let the fluid cool better than flex.
